Hello again!
It’s been a couple of weeks since my last post
and so I figured I should write another update. I have discovered that college
has been a lot about finding out who I really am. For example, I have
wholeheartedly learned the extent of my type-A personality. Whenever I get a
homework assignment, panic sets in as I rush to the dorm to get started on it.
This definitely has its advantages (no procrastination, finishing all of my
homework early in the week) but it also makes me stress out over the smallest
little details. I’ve also learned that I either have the most productive days
of my life or the laziest ones, depending on what I decide to do that morning.
It’s almost as if I have an “on” and “off” switch and cannot be in between.
Nevertheless academics have been going well and I am happy about my grades so
far and what I have been learning. Socially, let me just say that Miami is
crazy. There is never a night where I don’t have people asking to go uptown or
to a house party because people never stop here. I was not surprised when Miami
was #9 for top party schools in the country. Luckily, I think I have found a
great balance between having fun and working hard. I definitely miss my
friends, family, and especially my cats (haha, I miss the puppies as well) but
I don’t regret leaving Minnesota because I love the fresh start that I get to
have here. One thing that’s a little hard for me to get used to is the amount
of conservatives that are here. It’s definitely quite different here because I
am used to knowing a lot more liberals than I do here. In fact, I have yet to
meet one person that is voting for Obama. I miss you all and hope everything is
going well, anyone can come visit at any time J.
Love,
Allie
